Bring Your Own Device

At our school, all students will be required to join the BYOx program, which involves bringing a laptop to school to enhance their learning experience. 

Android devices and Chromebooks are not supported.

Students who bring their own device will:

  • Participate in a digital classroom environment, where they can access lesson materials, assessments, and a designated workspace for taking notes, conducting research, and engaging in online learning.
  • Use software and processes aligned with industry standards, helping prepare them for future careers and the workforce.
  • When applicable, have the chance to receive feedback on their learning and assessments from their teachers.
  • Windows laptops must be running Windows 11 for security reasons.


No Chromebooks or Android Devices are accepted.

 

BYOx Minimum Specifications Required

 

Laptop
  • Running Windows 11
  • Intel Core i3 11th Generation or newer
  • 1 x 8GB DDR4 RAM
  • 256GB SSD
  • 12-15" FHD 1920 x 1080 resolution screen

 

BYOx Recommended Specifications

Laptop
  • Running Windows 11
  • Intel Core i5 12th Gen or newer (Intel Core Ulta 5 or Core Ultra 7 or Ryzen 5 5xxx usually good too)
  • 16GB DDR5 RAM or more
  • 512GB SSD
  • 12-15" FHD 1920 x 1080 resolution screen
MacBook
  • Macbook Air or Pro with 16GB RAM
  • Macbook Air or Pro with an M1, M2, M3, M4 or M5

Joining BYOx Program

  1. Check your device specifications against our require​ments above and found in the Student Enrolment Handbook to ensure your device is compatible. Please note Android devices and Chromebooks are NOT compatible. Devices must have a 5Ghz wireless capable card in order to connect to our network.
  2. Complete the ​BYOX Charter Agreement and return to school.​​

  3. Enrol your device before bringing it to school using this help guide.
