Drama
The Drama program at Collingwood Park State Secondary College is designed to inspire creativity, confidence, and collaboration in all learners. Aligned with Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum, the subject provides opportunities for students to engage in making, performing, and responding to drama in meaningful and practical ways.
Students develop their expressive skills through improvisation, melodrama, and class performances, exploring the Elements of Drama to build a deep understanding of how stories, characters, and emotions can be communicated on stage. Through this creative process, students strengthen their communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, while also developing empathy and an appreciation for diverse perspectives.
Drama helps students build the confidence to express ideas clearly and authentically. It lays a strong foundation for future pathways in the performing arts, media, communication, and any field requiring collaboration and presentation skills.
Collingwood Park State Secondary College is committed to nurturing imaginative, articulate, and connected learners through an engaging and supportive Drama program.
Visual Art
The Visual Art program at Collingwood Park State Secondary College encourages students to explore creativity, personal expression, and critical thinking. Guided by the Australian Curriculum Version 9, students engage with both 2D and 3D artmaking processes across a range of materials, techniques, and artistic styles.
Throughout the course, students learn to Make and Respond—developing practical artmaking skills while also analysing their own work and the work of other artists. They experiment, problem-solve, take creative risks, and develop resilience as they refine ideas and techniques.
Visual Art fosters imagination and innovation, while also helping students build important transferable skills such as visual literacy, reflective thinking, and adaptability. These skills support pathways in design, architecture, film, illustration, and a wide range of creative industries.
Collingwood Park State Secondary College is committed to cultivating confident and thoughtful young artists who appreciate the power of visual expression.
